Kapanga Lidded Vessel
This vessel is one made during my residency in Kapanga (Coromandel Town), at Driving Creek Potteries and Railways.
It uses the nerikomi technique I often use but on a larger scale. It is made of two types of clay, a buff from the Waikato and also the signature Driving Creek clay or Coro Gold which Barry Brickell is known for and is still available to use on site today.
Raw exterior with clear glaze interior. This piece is not watertight due to the chaotic nature of nerikomi and the use of these beautiful clays!
